Background: Kurosawa is the rival of Battousai. He was the Kendo practitioner who caused Battousai's eruption when he broke the family sword. Since then most of his life has centered around becoming strong enough to defeat Battousai cleanly so as to clear all doubt as to who is the stronger swordsman. Several years later he got his opportunity. Kurosawa had struggled with his eruption. His exposure to Battousai's eruption had awakened something in him but had not been enough to cause his eruption. In the year folowing that match he followed Battousai's career avidly. His own accomplishments in Kendo paled in comparison. Even though he was master in his field and no one could even come close to his level he knew that Battousai was a Nova and could defeat him without even trying.
Then Kurosawa erupted. Like Battousai's eruption his came about from using real swords in a duel. In his mind's eye his opponent was Battousai. But this time the sword didn't snap and Kurosawa found himself in danger of being decapitated. He dodged the blade at the last moment and then collapsed in pain. He took his Nova name from the famous director of samurai cinema of Japan. He might have chosen a different name for himself but his habit of dressing as a samurai and use a Katana was the cause of a reporter giving him the name as sort of a joke. His fans and Otaku have thought that this was his Nova name all along and only a few of the most dedicated and obsessed know that this is not the case.
He spent the next few years preparing for his rematch with Battousai. His powers were very basic, but with training and the right equipment he felt confident he could prevail. He knew that with his Nova powers he could learn ancient arts that were the stuff of legend. He developed his techniques on his own and named them himself. They are loosely based on mythical powers of ancient martial artists but are undeniably Quantum Powers.
The result of that fight was that Battousai defeated Kurosawa even though Kurosawa came the closest to defeating him that anyone has ever come before. Since then the gap between them has only widened until Battousai convinced Kurosawa to join him in Team Tommorrow Middle East. The gap is still widening but now Kurosawa has the opportunity to train with Battousai.
Roleplaying Notes: Kurosawa has his fighting abilities and that is the source of his confidence. He is calm and overbearing with people he's beat or he thinks he can beat. With people who have beaten him or who he thinks can beat him he is less sure of himself. On the other hand if it's close he usually gives himself the benefit of the doubt.

Call - With a particular weapon that the Nova is familiar with he can use the trick of attunement to have the weapon jump into his hands at a distance of Attunement + Mega Melee rating in meters. To do this the Weapon must have been in the hands of the Mega Melee Nova within the last hour and have been Attuned at least once within the past 24 hours. This Demi Enhancement costs one Quantum point and is instant, if the weapon is intercepted in mid-flight the Nova is out of luck.
Imbue - The Mega Melee Master can attune his weapon so that it can withstand the full force of his superhuman strength. This Demi Enhancement can be used either on a block or a strike but the effect is the same, it imbues the weapon with the ability to withstand blows up to the Mega Strength of the Nova. On an attack this Demi Enhancement allows the Nova to use his full strength without regard to the Strength limitations of the weapon. On a Parry the weapon can withstand attacks up to the Mega Strength rating of the Mega Melee Nova. For example if a Nova with Mega Strength 4 is hit by another Nova with Mega Strength 5, the first four levels of Mega Strength would be stopped by the Strength of the defending Nova but the last level would get through, possibly shattering the weapon any ways.
Thrust - The Nova with this Demi Enhancement can place the full force of his blow behind his attack. When activated this Demi Enhancement adds the rating of the Nova in Mega Melee to the damage of the attack. This Demi Enhancement lasts for one attack.
