The Commander of the Spitfire Wings does not conform to anyone's expectations. She isn't the greatest pilot, she isn't even the best pilot on her own squad. But her managerial skills are three times as good as her closest competitor, which not only made her the logical choice for Commander of the Spitfires, but the only choice. As a leader she has a soft touch. Former Commanders who tried to take the Spitfire Pilots in charge and force them to behave usually ended up humilliated in many embarrassing and novel ways. But Rebecca has found a way to get her troops to tone it down a bit, simply by listening to them.
The Commander leads the Tactical Wing of the Spitfires into battle but is very quiet and retired in her personal life. She would much rather curl up with a book, a tub of ice cream and a glass of wine on a Saturday night than go out and paint the town red. She isn't involved with anyone at the moment and doesn't appear to be interested in any romantic entanglements at the moment.
