Background: An East European party boy Dorn erupted at the age of 17 when his lover left him after he refused to perform oral sex with him. Dorn was unsure of himself and his sexuality and after two days with the older and more experienced Nessar had a panic attack when the old man asked him to take him in the mouth. Dorn who had slept with many women and a few men didn't see the irony in the double standard he was applying to himself. He was capable of performing other forms of homosexual and bisexual activities but balked at the idea of taking a man's sex into his mouth. Dorn erupted and immediately became incapable of performing any kind of sexual activity as his body became pure crystal. Dorn had dabbled in new age crystal magic. And through his eruption some of it stuck. Nessar, his last lover did not see him erupt and had left over four hours before Dorn could control the throbbing pain running through his head. Dorn left the motel early the next morning and tracked down Nessar and killed him in his home. Afterwards, just to be cruel, he tortured and killed Nessar's dog and her puppies then stuffed them into Nessar's chest cavity.
Shortly after he found his way to a Teragen meeting of the Cult of Mal. He immediately caught the attention of Delorimier who renamed him Scion and inducted him into the Cult of Mal. The Apostle found in Scion a willing convert and rather than announce his find to the rest of the Teragen he nurtured the boy in private teaching him the ways of Teras and the Chrysalis. Scion was a natural student and soon his power rivaled any of the heavy hitters of the Primacy or Nova Vigilance. But The Apostle keeps this surprise under wraps. He hopes one day to use him against those in the Teragen who 'pollute' Mal's message with politics and economics.
Roleplaying Notes: Scion is an arrogant bastard who will rake his shards across the body of helpless victims just to see their blood and hear them scream. He is very eloquent and likes to keep a running commentary of his tortures, informing the victim just what he's doing and what he plans on doing next. Scion is almost always angry and frustrated since he can only have sex when dormed down and for him having sex while in dormancy seems pale and incomplete as he usually has to rely on implements and machines to torture his sexual partners. The closest he can come to his ideal is to transform at the very moment of climax, and in the process killing his victim.
Scion is very much Delorimier's creature. His first loyalty is to The Apostle and his temporary companions in the Four Horsemen. Scion isn't used much as an active Horseman, his talents are reserved for when his presence or the involvement of Terats can be kept secret. For this reason he doesn't associate with any Terats and when he goes out in public he denies any connection to the Teragen and actively opposes the efforts of Pedro Santiago and Nova Vigilance.
In combat Scion first incapacitates his opponents with a combination of disorienting and strobe attacks. He combines this with optical illusions, hypnotic effects and emotional manipulations. All of these attacks affect a large area around him so he is usually the first to strike in any team effort. After that he moves in with his claws. Scion is very brittle and mostly hollow, yet apparently filled with light. When struck his body breaks apart into shards which he can move around himself to reform or attack as he desires. (Use Cohesion Control to simulate this effect.) Most physical attacks pass right through his body and he is almost immune to Mental and Energy attacks making him one of the most lethal combatants in the world.
