Pillars of Faith

Seraphim Wing

The Primary Wing of the Spitfires, the Seraphim are composed of Tactical fighters that are suitable for general roles in combat and defense.  The pilots of the Seraphim Wing are the most solid and professional of the Spitfire Pilots.  Most of them get along well with the personnel of other branches.  Something that can't be said for the pilots of the other two Wings.
The Seraphim Wing also covers all diplomatic and parade functions.  They accompany diplomatic missions and fly cover for humanitarian and rescue missions.

Seraphim Wing

Cherubim Wing

The scout wing of the Spitfires is the Cherubim Wing.  These Scout fighters have lighter armor, are faster and more maneuverable than other Spitfires.  One of the most important missions of the Cherubim Wing is exploration.  The Cherubim Wing pilots are the ones who usually end up making first contact with alien species.  The first impression most outsiders get of the Avalon and her crew come from their dealings with the Cherubim Pilots.
The Cherubim Spifires range far and wide in their missions.  These pilots are the most outgoing and reckless pilots in the service.  They have to go out in the field far from the Avalon without any support.  Because of this they are also some of the most arrogant and cocky pilots in the Spitfire Wings.

Deva Wing

The support wing of the Spitfires is the Deva Wing.  These heavy craft carry large amounts of weapons and missle pods.  Their primary purpose is to break up enemy formations and take out enemy cruisers.  Given their armament and combat support role, the Deva Wing is the only Spitfire Wing whose only purpose is combat related.  As such they don't fly as often or as long as the other two Wings.
The pilots of Deva Wing or for the most part morbid and dark people who don't fit in with the pilots of the other two Wings.  Very low key and acerbic.
