Pillars of Faith

Aberrant PC's and Npc's

Basara

Basara

This is Basara, one of two signature PC's of my Aberrant campaign. He really had a bad start. You know how superheroes always get into a fight with normal thugs to show off their powers? Well Basara did that and got himself shot to death. Luckily he regenerates and managed to come back from the dead. That's where his legend began. And somewhere in Chicago there's a group of guys, who are most probably grown up now with jobs and families, who remember the night they shot a Nova and he died. If even for just a few minutes.

For more on Basara see Basara's Bad Day, a short story that accurately describes a typical day for the vigilante crime fighter. A day that the player would probably prefer to forget.

Battousai

Battousai

This is the second signature PC of my Aberrant campaign. This is the guy who killed Divis Mal. Took him a few swings, but he put the big guy down with the help Caestus Pax and Shaitan.

Fred

Fred

This is Fred. The human buddy of the PCs. Those are usually cops.

Caestus Pax

Caestus Pax

Here's my take on the signature character of the Team Tomorrow.  From what I've gathered he's grossly overpowered for the majority of campaigns.  But for my campaign he ranked just behind Battousai in raw power.

Madine

Madine

Madine was a great character in this campaign.  You could probably say she was "the" main character of the campaign.  When all was said and done it was her planning that led to the death of Divis Mal.  Revenge for something that hadn't happened yet.  Everybody was stunned.  They each had their own little parts in the story which were later revealed to be part of her manipulations.

Kurosawa

Kurosawa

Kurosawa was the major motivation for the character of Battousai.  Even though Papiro wouldn't admit it he kept looking for ways to improve his character specifically because he knew this guy was always gunning for him.  When it became clear that Kurosawa was never going to catch up he even offered him a place on his team in order to force his progress along.

Arashi

Kaoru

This is Battousai's sister.  She was the Yin to his Yang.

Gao Li

Gao Li

This is a Directive PC who kept tabs on the other characters for the shadowy organization. He also worked with Dr Destruction a few times.

Shaitan

Shaitan

This is Shaitan from my Aberrant campaign. The biggest NPC in any game I've ever run. At over 700 km from snout to tail there was no doubt who was your daddy in that campaign. Like Rend he was created as a PC buster but by the end of the campaign he came to work with the PC's.

DourMa Dariish

Shaitan

This is Shaitan's leuitenant and a powerful asskicker in his own right.

Victory Angel

Victory Angel

This was one of the PC's of that Aberrant Campaign. Her powers were pretty standard except that she could Heal practically anything. Even dead people if too much time hadn't passed. (15 to 20 minutes)  Side Note:  I saw Xenosaga the Animation recently.  I sort of knew that War Angel was in that "Mecha Angel" mold of Japanimation, but I had no idea there was something so similar as to be basically a carbon copy.  I must have seen a picture on the web years ago and subconsciously based it on that.  Funny that something like that could have stuck in my mind without me knowing about it.  I suppose I really don't have an original thought anywhere in my head.

Kurobuchi

Kurobuchi

This is Kurobuchi from my Aberrant Campaign. My Players all tell me he looks just like Rikkimaru. Whoever that is.

Maelstorm

Maelstorm
This is Mikey's character Maelstorm. You would think that he watches this site regularly since he's a friend of mine and we have actually known each other for something like five or six years. But no he can't be troubled to visit my site when he's spending every minute online playing Diablo II Lord of Destruction. I mean you think if he's my friend and one of my regular players he'd at least have the decency to make the comics page his default homepage. But noooo he has Diabloii.net as his startup page.

Pounder
Pounder was Maelstorm's girlfriend.  Of course he always suspected she was cheating on him.  Never got any proof though.  So he cheated on her just in case.

Dr. Destruction

Dr. Destruction

So many of you will be asking yourselves 'Just who is Dr Destruction?' Well here he is. He's an NPC for my long running Aberrant campaign.

Tetsu-Ro

Tetsu-Ro

One of the big guys in my campaign, this guy ran into the PC's more than once.  Funny how many villains were giants in one way or another.

Kinshishi

Kinshishi
This was a fun character that saw little use. The players in that campaign don't even remember when I used him even though they all recognize the drawing. I guess they only remember the NPC's they have to fight against!

Rebecca

Rebecca

In my Aberrant campaign everyone had money. And not just a respectable amount of money, I mean loads and loads of "What the hell am I going to do with all this stash anyways?" cash. A lot of my Players needed personal assistants to help them deal with amounts of wealth that where literally above and beyond their dreams of avarice. Instead of making a separate NPC secratary for each player I went the nurse Joy, officer Jenny route and used this one girl for all their executive assistant needs.

Warlord Zoku

Warlord Zoku

Warlord Zoku was more of a plot device to get the PC's moving whenever they got too attached to doing nothing.

Hairy Goblin

Hairy Goblin

This is the nova responsible for many a conniption among my players.  His powers were unique and he was in charge of Warlord Zoku.  Either one of these alone would make him despised by any player, but the fact that he could take out any single player on his own added to the fact that he controlled another NPC who could take out the entire party, made him the object of special hatred.

Capatin Jack Gallows

Captain Jack Gallows

Never really got to use this guy except as a diplomatic aid for Kinshishi. My Players don't even remember the drawing. He sort of stood in the background looking menacing to give the characters less incentive to attack Kinshishi.

Timelord

Timelord

This guy was a secondary PC for Geova.  He was a trial lawyer and coincidently he handled all of the PC's legal troubles.

More Aberrants:  I used wrestlers extensively in my campaign since the focus was an XWF type operation that was owned by one of the players and which employed some of the other PC's.  The company was called the Nova Kombat League and featured former wrestlers turned nova and had the appeal that sometimes the novas would fight in the stands as well as exotic locations.
The Undertaker

Tötentaz

Tötentaz

Tötentaz was one of the few NPCs to go up against Battousai and not get killed or captured. That's because he never let Battousai see him.

Geryon

Geryon

Geryon.  He was the PC's punching bag.

Here's a bunch of people you do not want to meet in a darkened alley. Warning contains adult material. (No not nudie pictures, adult content, as in 'offensive' reading ahead.) Exactly what some people find offensive is iffy so if you're under 17 then just don't risk it and stay out.

The Four Horsemen

Pestilence

Pestilence

This bad boy haunted the characters since the beginning of the campaign.  One of the most evil things I've done in a campaign was have this NPC kill the unborn child of Victory Angel and Basara.
